The primary objective of this organization is to unite professionals active in the fields of agriculture, animal services, and food technology from the government, non-government, and private sectors, and to make a significant contribution at the policy-making and implementation levels. The broader goal is to alleviate poverty, ensure food and nutrition security, promote self-employment, and ultimately achieve sustainable development and economic prosperity through the overall development of the agricultural sector.

The specific objectives of the organization are as follows:

  1. To facilitate the transformation of the predominantly subsistence-based agricultural system into a diversified, commercial, industrial, and competitive one by ensuring effective service delivery, quality production, easy access to inputs, and increased investment from the government, non-government, and private sectors.

  2. To attract unemployed and migrant youths towards agriculture by coordinating with relevant stakeholders to promote entrepreneurship, provide technical support, and help create youth-focused, agriculture-based employment opportunities.

  3. To support the sustainable economic and social development of farmers and agri-entrepreneurs through the promotion and expansion of scientific and practical agricultural education, research, and technology.

  4. To assist in the effective implementation of existing policies, strategies, acts, and regulations for the development of commercial and industrial agriculture, and to help timely revise and refine them in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

  5. To remain active in ensuring quality service delivery, production, and distribution of goods in line with national and international commitments, while protecting the rights and interests of consumers, farmers, entrepreneurs, and businesspersons.

  6. To develop, expand, and coordinate relationships with national and international professional organizations and promote mutual cooperation and exchange.

  7. To provide technical and consultancy services to national and international organizations as needed in matters related to Nepal’s agricultural development.

  8. To offer expert services and advocacy at political and decision-making levels to ensure necessary commitments, resource allocation, prioritization, policy arrangements, and effective implementation for the overall development of the agricultural sector.

  9. To provide effective coordination and support to protect and promote the professional and institutional rights and interests of agricultural professionals.
